The breakneck speed of modern life makes it very difficult to find time for “less important” things such as going to the gym or eating a healthy diet. This is especially dangerous for those of us that work in front of a computer, as sitting in bad positions for many hours at a time puts a lot of stress in your spine and makes your body rigid, causing muscular pain.
Luckily there are some exercises you can practice at the office during your breaks, such as chair yoga. You can do the cat-cow stretch while seated on a chair, the raised hands pose, a chair forward bend, or the chair pigeon. If you do not mind strange looks, you can even try regular poses standing such as the warrior, the tree, or the reverse warrior.
For those of us that work sitting and using a pen, there are even specific stretches for tired hands and carpal tunnel syndrome so be sure to check them out!
